coat season

June got her first coat. We wanted pink of course but they didn't have one in her size.

sept - key largo

In September Dan and I want to Key Largo, FL. We had never been to the keys before and Daniel had never been on an island. Can you believe that? Poor guy. We flew into Miami and drove down. Key Largo is the first 'key'.

We had a great time. It was a lot of laying out, enjoying the sun and going out to eat. My perfect vacation!

photos are in

The calendar photos are in. We should have brought props. A lot of the other photos are a lot more entertaining and show a more 'outgoing' personality. Our little girl is pretty proper. So serious. But that is June. I keep thinking she has such an old soul for such a pretty little girl.

I haven't been able to find a picture that represents the pure awe of what I came home to a little over a week ago now, but here are a few to give you some idea.

After making some progress. I think I can see the remains of a fence under there!

The tree that ended up on my garage and in my yard.

All you could see of our garage from the neighbors yard.

The view from our backdoor before clean up began.

Oops. Don't mean to not blog. Just not sure where the time goes.

Summer has been great. We've stayed really busy. We had our birthday's. Friends birthdays. I'm in a wedding next weekend and I have another friend getting married in September, so showers and bachelorette parties have kept me going. Haven't really done a lot around the house except for trying to maintain the yard. We are talking about some changes to our bedroom and of course we have a list a mile long of other projects to get to someday! Ha.

Walking, walking, and walking always keeps me busy. If the scale is right, since we brought home June in March I've lost almost 15 lbs!

Speaking of June, she is doing great. So sweet. So cute. So great. She just turned 10 months old. Her 1st birthday is in September. She has graduated from Level II obedience and then we took the rest of the summer off to work with her and have some free time before moving on to advanced obedience. Next weekend will be the first time Daniel and I leave her.

Then in September we'll be leaving her for a full week when Daniel and I go to Key Largo! Yay! We're thrilled and can't wait for it. It will be our first beach vacation together. I sure hope he can be a good stand in for my favorite beach vacation mate (Traci).

here are some pics of our birthday:

hair

in celebration of 29, I cut my hair.

fun pics of June

kicks

my new birthday shoes. love them.

daycare

yes, we take June to daycare - usually only once a week. Its a great alternative to leaving her in her crate all day and since we don't have friends with big dogs that like to play like June does, it gives her a great opportunity to socialize with other dogs, which is very important. I just love dropping her off in the morning, she gets so excited. I wish everyone could see it. Then I drive away and feel good about her being there. I get to work and pull up the webcams! so much fun to watch her play. Then when I pick her up...she is exhausted. Today was her first full day at daycare (dropped her off at 8:30 and picked her up at 5:30. She usually just goes for a few hours. She was soooo poopped. Here she is already passed out as soon as she hit the car seat.

birthday

Daniel and I had an amazing birthday weekend together. Thanks to everyone for the wishes, gifts and company. It was a great year!

more of our backyard in the spring

finally

our very large lavender patch.  the best part is when June goes running through the garden, she smells like lavender. This also shows new fence versus old fence. New is much better.

My fushia hanging basket.

One of my fave views of the backyard and the new fence.

Keeping it classy in the backyard with my wine in a very large plastic MN Wild cup.

at work

My little June bug at work yesterday. This was about the only time she was being a good girl. She thought work was playtime. Playtime with Mommy.

And yes, since I don't have a baby yet, I guess June will do for all of my posts now. :)

Summer

Been a really bad blogger. Where does time go? Summer is almost here and we've been busy. June sure keeps me busy. I've been outside working in the yard, prepping the yard for the fence, and planting window boxes. I'll try and get some pics up of all of that soon. A quick overview of our happenings outside of the house: We did the walk for animals last weekend, a 5 miles walk with about 5,000 other dogs (if not more)! It was great. Already can't wait for next year! Finihsed leash class and have our Obiedience level 1 test next week!!! Getting ready to do the walk for the cure on Monday with my mom and little sister. Hope everyone is finding time to relax in between the busy stuff this season brings!

Here is a little pic of me and the June.

Proud Mama

I've been a proud mama lately. June is learning quickly and doing great. We're in obedience school, leash school, and tons of practice at home and about and so far its all been well worth the time and money. She is a sweet girl and finding her place in the family. We're just in the process of teaching of her how to say hello to dogs and ask them to play. She had a successful playtime with our friends teeny tiny dog. That was a great sight to see. Last night we had a trainer over to show us and her how to properly be introduced to other dogs. It went really well and the key for June is teaching her the right way to meet dogs. She thinks she is human and wants to say hello face to face. This is not good in dog world. I'll be asking all of my friends with dogs for play dates and introduction training. :) The more successful meetings she has on an individual basis with all types of dogs the more she learns that dogs are okay and will not hurt her. PS, for all my friends with babies. We need walks with strollers. So hit me if you want a walk one of the lakes anytime soon.
